Last week, it was just a rumor. Now, divorce is a reality for reality TV personality Bethenny Frankel.
Frankel and her husband Jason Hoppy are divorcing, reports The New York Post. Although Frankel hasn't spoken out about her divorce yet, rumors have run rampant since her separation nearly a month ago.
The Frankel-Hoppy divorce seems anything but amicable, if early reports are true. For starters, Frankel is apparently asking for primary custody of the couple's 2-year-old daughter Bryn.
And she is actually asking Hoppy for child support, despite the fact that she made more than $12 million last year.
Of course, her prenup is in effect -- or at least, she's asking the court to enforce her prenuptial agreement.
According to the couple's New York divorce filing, Frankel claims her net worth is between $25 million and $55 million. She is also asking Hoppy for life insurance that names her and her kids as beneficiaries. Hoppy is worth a reported $5 million, according to the website CelebrityNetWorth.com.
Frankel is also asking Hoppy to leave the couple's marital residence.
It's likely that fans saw this split coming, as the couple documented their lives on reality TV. Most recently, the couple has been on "Bethenny Ever After," a show chronicling the couple's marital "bliss." Prior to that was "Bethenny Getting Married." Bethenny first rose to fame from her appearance on "The Real Housewives of New York," although she had appeared prior to that on Martha Stewart's "Apprentice."
As Bethenny Frankel's divorce moves through the court system, questions about child custody and support will likely take center stage. Fans will have to wait and see what happens.
