It looks like 85-year-old Hugh Hefner will no longer be getting this married this weekend, as planned. While this may be a sad decision between the couple, it will might just be saving the Playboy Magazine founder from a great deal of family law drama in the future.
KTLA News reports that Hefner's planned wedding to 24-year-old Playboy playmate Crystal Harris was called off after the two got into an argument over the phone this past weekend. Apparently, their wedding was supposed to take place on Saturday and more than 300 people had been invited to the occasion.
The marriage to Harris would have been Hefner’s third wedding. He reportedly divorced Playmate Kimberly Conrad just last year and popped the big question to Harris on Christmas Day with a very expensive engagement ring. We reported in an earlier blog post that Hefner wasn’t planning to sign a prenuptial agreement before his marriage to Harris, which would have meant that his $43 million fortune would have gone unprotected in the case of a split from his latest almost-wife.
Hefner actually said that he wouldn’t bring a prenuptial agreement into their relationship because he “actually cares” for his young fiancé. However, he should know that it is possible to “care” for a loved one and still protect your assets before getting married.
Yet it looks like the issue of prenup will no longer be an issue for Hefner, since he and Harris are no longer getting married. News reports say that the Playmate has already moved out of the Playboy Mansion.
